My sandals for swimming!
A swimming friend recommended these plastic Birkenstocks and I found some shortly later. They’re now a fave element of my swimming clobber.
The Arizona is the classic Birkenstock style. These are made of ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA), a non-toxic lightweight and flexible synthetic material.
Birkenstock do say that: ‘This style must be not be left in direct sunlight and are not designed to be worn day in day out, for long periods of time or on lengthy walks.’
So I imagine they will not last as long as my other, antique Birkenstocks. Especially if I give them a good workout around the beaches, pools and rock shelves of Sydney.
You’ll find them on your own country’s Birkenstock website. The main website is: http://www.birkenstock.com/
They look great. I love birkies but I do think putting wet feet in them makes the leather and cork disintegrate. These are a good solution.
For really wet activities like white water rafting or just walking on rocks or reefs I love Chacos. Like Birkenstocks they don’t come cheap but they go the distance ๐
